Y'all!! I LOVE POTATOES!!! All the ways!! All the days! :) I particularly love a nice, hot, fluffy baked potato. I love to bake potatoes in my Ninja Foodi. They turn out great each and every time! I also love to encrust the potatoes with salt before I air fry them or bake them in the oven. You don't have to have a Ninja Foodi - any air fryer or your oven will work just fine. So, let's get started! This is super easy. Get your kids or grandkids involved in salting the potatoes.
What kind of potato do I prefer to use? I prefer to use Russet potatoes. They turn out nice and fluffy. And the skin get crispy. Delish!! Wash your potato and pat it dry. It's very important to dry your potatoes. I like to take a fork and prick the potato a few times. Some people say that isn't necessary, but Grandma and Mama did it so, I do it too. You know how that goes, right?
Drizzle your potatoes with a good amount of olive oil. Rub the potato and get all the skin covered with the oil.
I use table salt normally. You can use sea salt or whatever type of salt you would like to use. I really coat it on there. If you are not a super salty fan, dial it back a little.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket. Easy peasy, right?
I air fry my potatoes on 400 degrees. The length of time will depend on the size of your potatoes, of course. We normally have fairly large potatoes. I cooked these for 45 minutes. Use this handy dandy reference guide to give you an idea of how long to air fry your potatoes. If you are new at using the air fryer - test your potatoes. If you are cooking for 45 minutes - check your potatoes around the 35 minute mark. I normally take a paring knife and stick it in the potato to check for softness.
Take your potato and slice it open. Sometimes, I just slather my potato in butter - no matter what other toppings - there is always butter! I love sour cream, chives, bacon, cheese. Sometimes I like chili and cheese and jalapenos in my potato. BBQ pork!! The options are pretty endless, y'all! What is your favorite baked potato topping?
